Steph Curry performed a record-breaking performance Tuesday night, leading the Golden State Warriors to a 134-125 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum. With 5th place in the Western Conference on the line, Curry’s 52-point explosion, including 12 three-pointers, 10 rebounds, eight assists, and five steals, secured the crucial win.
After a disappointing performance at the same arena last December, where he failed to make a single shot, Curry delivered one of the most remarkable games of his career. His dominance was evident from the start, as he posted 19 points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals, and five three-pointers in the first quarter alone — a stat line achieved just 90 times in the entire season.
By halftime, Curry had reached 32 points, seven rebounds, five assists, two steals, and eight threes, a combination matched only twice this season. At the end of the third quarter, his 45 points, seven rebounds, eight assists, five steals, and 11 threes set an NBA first. He finished with 52 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, and five steals.
Curry’s performance didn’t just win the game; it also etched his name deeper into NBA history. He moved past Jerry West to enter the top 25 on the all-time scoring list and posted his 10th career game with at least 50 points and 10 threes, far ahead of Klay Thompson’s three such games. He also surpassed Michael Jordan with his eighth career game, recording 50 points on 50% field goal and 60% three-point shooting.
The Warriors’ victory also saw strong support from Jimmy Butler III, who scored 27 points, and Draymond Green, who recorded his first triple-double of the season. The team closed on an 18-5 run, with clutch contributions from Brandin Podziemski and Moses Moody.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr praised Curry’s performance: “The conditioning, the skill, the audacity, the belief… He’s still got it.”
With the win, Golden State moves into fifth place in the West, while the Grizzlies drop to sixth after their fourth consecutive loss. The Warriors are now 18-2 when Curry and Butler play together, highlighting the potent partnership propelling their playoff push.
