The incredible numbers behind Manchester United’s 2007/08 double-winning side

One of the very best eras of Manchester United’s history came in the 2007/08 campaign with a brilliant double for the club.

There is often debate over what the best team of the Premier League era is and two Manchester United teams are usually in contention for the top spot.

The 1999 treble winners and the 2008 double winners were two sensational sides both under the tutelage of Sir Alex Ferguson. United were only prevented a treble in 2008 after goalkeeper issues in the FA Cup.

The two are tough to pick between, but Rio Ferdinand predicted that the 2008 United side would beat 1999.

Ferguson’s 2008 team boasted one of the best attacking trios ever, which is likely the factor placing it ahead of any other in the Premier League era.

Here are the numbers behind United’s brilliant 2007/08 season, from top scorers to clean sheets to biggest wins.
