Draymond Green Singles Out Grizzlies Star After Warriors’ Win: ‘I’m Disappointed’

It was Steph Curry who stole the spotlight yet again on Tuesday night as the former back-to-back MVP led the Golden State Warriors to a 134-125 win over the Memphis Grizzlies at FedEx Forum.

Curry exploded for 52 points on 12-of-20 from beyond the arc, along with 10 rebounds, eight assists, five steals and a block in what was truly a memorable performance for the 11-time All-Star.

Overshadowed by Curry's heroics was Draymond Green's triple-double as the former Defensive Player of the Year chipped in with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists, to go with two steals, a block and one three-pointer.

Green spoke to reporters during the post-game press conference, and it was at that point that the Warriors veteran decided to single out Grizzlies star Jaren Jackson Jr.

"I'm disappointed in Jaren," Green said. "You know I've got a lot of love for him, that's my Spartan dog.

"He's too good to still be getting in foul trouble. ... It's time for him to take that next step in that department. Because it was huge for us for him to get out of the game. I'm happy he did, but I'm a Jaren fan.

"I'm always rooting for him. And to see him still getting some of those fouls that he's picking up, he can't do that. His team needs him out there."

In true Draymond Green fashion, the four-time NBA champ did not let his friendship with Jackson get in the way during the game. Green still competed as he normally would, and he was even glad to see Jackson exit the game at one point due to foul trouble.

However, Green also made it clear that he considers Jackson, a fellow Michigan State alum, to be like a little brother to him. Green knows how much potential the Grizzlies star has in him, and this is exactly why Green was left disappointed with how Jackson struggled with his fouls on Tuesday night.

Nevertheless, Green is still happy to come home victorious after a hard battle against Jackson and the Grizzlies.

It's a tough back-to-back set for the Warriors coming up as they face the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets on Thursday and Friday, respectively. After Tuesday's win, Golden State has climbed up to fifth in the West with a 44-31 record.
