Ange meets Tottenham next manager clamour head on as Celtic hero backs himself with response of a lifetime

Bullish Ange Postecoglou insists he is not worried over his Tottenham future and believes he would land another top job.

The former Celtic boss insists speculation over his tenure doesn't consume or rock his world as he responded to comments made by Mauricio Pochettino over a return to North London. He states that he does not feel disrespected and knows outstanding candidates would be in the running for the top job - if he was to go.

But he remains passionate and fully focussed on his briefing from when he arrived which was to change the club playing philosophy, rejuvenate the squad and bring success - which he can still do in the Europa League and deliver on his second season trophy promise.

The 59-year-old spoke to the media ahead of facing Chelsea as he once again answered questions over his tenure and the comments of a former Spurs boss favourite.

Ange said: "Mauricio, if he wants to come back one day I hope it happens for him. We all have dreams and aspirations. If that is what he wants. You’re suggesting he is trying to put pressure on me?

"I don’t feel disrespected. I think if you ask Mauricio that question directly, you’d get a pretty clear answer as to what his intent was. Again, nothing from me to sort of be consumed with. I’m more focused on trying to make sure we win tomorrow night."

Asked how he deals with talk over his future as a manager and human being, he added: "I don’t deal with it, mate. I know what my responsibilities are and I am sure if the club decide to go in a different direction there are some outstanding candidates for it.

"And you know what, maybe someone will think, ‘Ange Postecoglou is not a bad coach, maybe we’ll take a punt on him.’

"Mate, It doesn’t rock my world. It doesn’t consume me. I am here, I am passionate about what we’re doing.

"I was brought in to change the way the club plays, rejuvenate the squad and bring success. I am focused on that and that is what I’ll keep doing."

Poch, speaking in an interview a couple of weeks back stated: "Look, when I left the club I always remember one interview I said I would like one day to come back to Tottenham.

"I am in the USA, I am not going to no, I'm not going to talk about that, but what I said then still after six years or five years, I still feel in my heart that, yes, I would like one day to come back."
