Why 25y/o Arsenal star out on loan is now back to Sobha Realty Training Centre - revealed

Arsenal attacker Reiss Nelson has returned to the Sobha Realty Training Centre from his Fulham loan spell to continue his rehabilitation and return to full fitness, according to former Sky Sports producer Connor Humm.

Humm, an Arsenal insider who regularly breaks news on the Gunners and is followed on X by the likes of Dharmesh Sheth, Ryan Taylor and Fabrizio Romano shared the update this afternoon.

Nelson joined Fulham on a season-long loan last summer and had played 12 games before sustaining a hamstring injury last December.

The 25-year-old was expected to be out for around ten weeks and was due to return to action in February, but he suffered a new hamstring problem and has now returned to his parent club to continue his recovery.

Nelson has played his last game of the season from the look of things and will now be looking to get fit for pre-season ahead of a potential departure from Arsenal in the summer.

There were suggestions the Gunners could look to recall the best Englishman in January following injuries to Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling, and Ethan Nwaneri, but he picked up the first knock shortly afterwards, ending their chances of a recall.

The Hale End academy graduate is out of contract in 2027 after signing a four-year extension in 2023, and the summer will be the best time to sell him as he enters the last two years of his current deal.

Nelson will not be short of suitors despite playing just around four months of the season, and the medical team at Arsenal will look to ensure he attains full fitness before the transfer window opens.
