Indeed, Pep Guardiola’s side brought in no fewer than four new faces in the winter window, and a number of those players have hit the ground running.
Nico Gonzalez has earned a lot of praise for his performances so far, while Abdukodir Khusanov is slowly but surely finding his feet.
However, the standout January addition at Man City has undoubtedly been Omar Marmoush.
Marmoush has taken to life in Manchester like a duck to water, and the Egyptian has earned huge praise since arriving at the Etihad.
Speaking to Super Sport, Pep Guardiola has been discussing Marmoush’s arrival at City, and he made quite the claim about the striker.

Indeed, Guardiola hailed Marmoush for his performances this season for both Frankfurt and City, claiming that the forward as the best player in Germany before arriving at City.
There are some fantastic players in the Bundesliga right now such as Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala, but according to Guardiola, Marmoush was the best of the bunch this season before his move to City.

Guardiola spoke about signing Marmoush.
The City boss said that the Egyptian has been really good since signing for City, while he hailed his impact in the first half of the season to in Germany.
Indeed, Guardiola went as far as to say that Marmoush was the best player in the Bundesliga.
“The club saw him, they found him in Germany making an incredible, incredible impact. This season he was currently before he came to us, the best player in Germany. He’s a fantastic player and we have to admit the impact he’s made with us has been really, really good,” Guardiola said.

Guardiola says that Marmoush was the best player in Germany during his time at Frankfurt, and when you look at the numbers, it’s hard to disagree.
Of course, Harry Kane has his own case to make as the leading light in a Bayern Munich team that is dominating the division.
However, statistically, Marmoush is right there alongside Kane.

Of course, scoring and assisting at such a rate for Frankfurt is much more impressive than doing it for Bayern Munich. After all, Vincent Kompany’s side head into every game as heavy favourites in the Bundesliga.
Marmoush may well have been the Bundesliga’s best player this season, and based on what we’ve seen so far in the Premier League, it would appear City have a gem on their hands here.
