According to [Sports DNA](https://x.com/DAlessandro_LU/status/1906256020403269933?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1906256020403269933%7Ctwgr%5E638ff5ef13708f44aeb3fb518447f25e624d96a9%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Ffansided.voltax.io%2Fcms%2Feditor%2F115%2F01jqv971cwxa), Nunn will sign a deal worth nearly $4.9 million per year through 2028, and will remove the "NBA out" clause in his contract that would allow him to cancel his European contract to return to the States during the length of his deal.
From the NBA to EuroLeague
--------------------------
Nunn has long since left the Heat, having last played for the team during the 2020-21 season, where he participated in 56 regular-season games and four playoff games.
Nunn began his NBA journey with the Heat after going undrafted. He achieved significant success during his rookie year when he averaged 15.3 points per game on 43.9% shooting, ultimately finishing second in the Rookie of the Year voting behind Ja Morant.
His contributions were pivotal in Miami's playoff run to the NBA Finals in 2020, where he played 15 games and averaged 6.1 points.
However, after a promising start, Nunn's time in Miami was cut short due to an injury that sidelined him for the entire 2021-22 season following his move to the Los Angeles Lakers. He had brief tenures with the Lakers and the Washington Wizards during the 2022-23 season but has not played in the NBA since.
Despite his absence from the league, Nunn continues to excel in basketball overseas, currently averaging 20.3 points per game with a 40.5% shooting rate from beyond the arc for Panathinaikos in the EuroLeague during the 2024-25 season and is poised to receive a lucrative contract extension, potentially making him the highest-paid player in Europe.
Becoming the highest-paid EuroLeague player
-------------------------------------------
EuroLeague star Nunn has finalized a multiyear contract extension with Panathinaikos Athens, securing his position with the team until 2028, reports state. The agreement stipulates an annual salary of €4.5 million ($4,876,843.45), positioning the American superstar to become the highest-paid player in the EuroLeague.
Notably, the contract does not include any NBA out clauses, ensuring that the American guard will remain with Panathinaikos for at least three additional seasons. Negotiations for the extension had been ongoing for several weeks, focusing on the critical aspect of excluding the NBA out clause present in his previous contract, which was set to expire in 2026, according to reports.
Nunn is a strong contender for his league's MVP award. Since joining Panathinaikos in Oct. 2024, Nunn has quickly established himself as one of the league's elite players, earning a spot on the All-First Team.
