Chelsea and Newcastle United are in the picture to sign RC Strasbourg’s Emanuel Emegha in the summer window.
Journalist Mohamed Toubache-Ter took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to state Chelsea have the 22-year-old’s name is ‘on the table’.
The striker’s ‘meteoric rise’ at the Ligue 1 club has caught Newcastle’s attention. That’s according to Jeunes Footeux, who report the Magpies have him on their target list.
Eddie Howe has Alexander Isak as the first-choice striker, and he has starred this season. The 25-year-old has been linked to a few top clubs and faced with the possibility of losing him, Newcastle are looking at options to replace the Swede.
The Tyneside club have identified Emegha as one of the targets. The Dutchman scored 12 goals and registered two assists from 22 league games for Strasbourg and has a contract until 2028.
Jeunes Footeux state the player desired by Chelsea and Newcastle is valued at €25m. In addition to these two clubs, West Ham United and Everton are watching him closely.
Chelsea are owned by BlueCo, who also own the French club. The report explains BlueCo could ‘play a key role’ in the frontman’s transfer.
The BlueCo connection could give Chelsea an easier route, ahead of Newcastle, to sign Emegha.
