Manchester City's star striker Erling Haaland has taken to social media to update fans on his ankle injury.
The Norway international is set to be sidelined for seven weeks due to the injury he picked up during Sunday's FA Cup quarter-final victory over Bournemouth. Haaland, who has netted 30 goals this season, will consequently miss tonight's clash with Leicester City and the upcoming match against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
Haaland's injury is likely to boost Chelsea's top-four hopes with Enzo Maresca's side currently a point clear of the City in the Premier League table. And the 24-year-old took to social media recently to assure fans that he's doing everything possible to speed up his recovery.
"I'll be back," Haaland posted on social media platforms X (was Twitter) and Instagram - alongside a picture of him in a protective boot and holding two crutches.
The reigning champions are set to face Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup semi-finals later this month - as they aim for a third consecutive final at the iconic Wembley Stadium.
"The doctors told me between five and seven weeks so, hopefully, the end of the season and Club World Cup, he will be ready," Guardiola said this week when he was asked about Haaland's injury.
"Sometimes there are years that these things happen - and it's happened all season. It could have been different if it was the end of the season [before the Club World Cup].
"With all the injuries that we have this season, I'm sorry for them and for Erling as well. Hopefully, his recovery is as speedy as possible and he can come back.
"We don't have another player with his skills or specific qualities, but we have to adapt. For many years, we played with different ways up front.
"It depends on the quality of the players. We are going to try and find a solution."
