Manchester City welcome strugglers Leicester City to the Etihad Stadium as they continue their quest to secure Champions League football next season.
City are currently fifth in the table, one point behind fourth-placed Chelsea, but face a Foxes side that is equally as desperate for points to avoid an instant return to the Championship.
On paper, it should be a routine City victory but there has been nothing routine about the Blues this season.
As always, our team are here to give us their opinions and predictions on tonight’s match. Here’s what they think this week.
Saul
Tough game. Lots of injuries. Need the win, slight one is what we get, 2-1 City.
City 2-1 Leicester
Thomas
The Foxes are all but certain to be heading back to the Championship next season, and City can ill afford to drop points at home to the 19th-place team in the table. Omar Marmoush is now thrust into a starring role, and he’ll need to shine down the stretch if City are to secure a spot in next fall’s UCL field. Let’s start with a Marmoush double and 3 points to the Manc Blues.
City 3-0 LCFC
Pete
Haaland injured at the business isn’t exactly what we wanted, but Omar Marmoush could be the replacement we need. I think he’ll do well against a Leicester side that has kept just one clean sheet all season. There may be a bit of rotation with Sunday’s derby coming up, but City should have enough. Will they keep a clean sheet? No, don’t be stupid.
City 4-1 Leicester
What Happened Against Bournemouth
City reached the FA Cup semi-final but not without a battle as they came back from 1-0 down, and a missed Haaland penalty, to win 2-1.
Our team were almost spot on with their predictions. Will got the score absolutely bang in, however, he got the wrong result, thinking Bournemouth would win 2-1. Saul Was a City goal away from a perfect score and Thomas will rue the fact that the Blues couldn’t keep a clean sheet. Pete though there would be just one goal in it and he was right, so many points all round.
Here’s the table:
