Stats Show How Jazz Rookie Is Struggling This Season

The Utah Jazz are currently the worst team in the NBA and hold an awful 16-60 record.

This season is just about over for them, and it’s time to look at who played well and who needs to improve.

As noted by Evan Sidery, the team’s latest draft pick hasn’t been impressive.

Cody Williams, who was the No. 10 overall pick in June, is “producing one of the worst efficiency seasons ever for a rookie.”

He has a 41.9 true shooting percentage, a 32.3 field goal percentage, and 25.9 three-point percentage.

Unsurprisingly, the Jazz have been using him a lot lately as they attempt to tank and secure a good draft pick.

Cody Williams, the Jazz’s No. 10 overall pick from the 2024 NBA Draft, is producing one of the worst efficiency seasons ever for a rookie:

For the season, Williams is averaging 4.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists.

He is having a rookie season that he’d like to forget, but that doesn’t mean he can’t get better.

It is hard to adjust to playing in the NBA, and Williams may simply need more time.

Even though he isn’t happy with his output, the Jazz are making the most of it.

They have been tanking for weeks and that is helping their chances of securing a great draft pick in a few months.

So, in the long run, Williams’ bad season might be helping his team.

Jazz fans will keep a close eye on him when next season begins because they want to see if he can improve and become a capable player or if his time in the league may be limited.

The Jazz are in terrible shape, so most people aren’t paying attention to them and that might be good news for Williams.
