Pittsburgh Steelers have competition for rocket-armed quarterback trade

New England Patriots quarterback Joe Milton might be the ultimate lottery ticket on the open market this offseason. The Pittsburgh Steelers could look into a trade for Milton if they miss out on Aaron Rodgers.

According to Mark Daniels of MassLive.com, the Patriots have received multiple offers from teams about Milton. Yet, they are not sure if they will trade Milton, though Milton might want out.

“According to multiple sources, the Patriots have received multiple trade inquiries for young quarterback Joe Milton III,” Daniels writes. “It remains to be seen if the Patriots will ultimately deal Milton. However, there does seem to be motivation on the player’s side to be moved. A source close to the quarterback said Milton would prefer to be on a roster that best gives him a chance to compete for the starting job.”

Milton, in any trade scenario, will cost a third-round pick according to Tony Grossi.

“One drawback would be the cost. Sources closer to the situation than me expect the asking price of the Patriots to be a third-round pick,” Grossi writes.

Milton came out of Tennessee as a strong-armed, but raw quarterback. In his one game of playing time with the Patriots, he impressed, throwing for 241 yards and one touchdown while completing 75.9 percent of his passes.
