Liverpool fans believe that Mo Salah's appearance at one of the city's most famous landmarks was to film a new contract announcement. Salah, 32, sees his current deal with the Reds expire in June, meaning that he's on course to leave as a free agent when the summer transfer window opens.
The Egyptian is enjoying arguably his best season since joining Liverpool from Roma in 2017, scoring 27 goals and racking up 17 assists in only 29 Premier League games to put his side in pole position to win the title. But amid his spectacular form, speculation over his future has been rife.

Salah went public in November to claim that he feels 'more out than in' at Liverpool, who are the time hadn't made a formal offer. The 32-year-old has dropped multiple hints that it'll be his final season at Anfield, although supporters believe that a new deal could now be in the offing.
Before Wednesday's Merseyside derby clash with Everton, a picture emerged of Salah in front of cameras at Liverpool's Royal Albert Dock wearing a club-branded outfit. The forward could be seen smiling, standing on what appears to be a boat. It remains unclear when the picture was taken.
A frenzy began on social media, one fan excitedly posting on X: "CONTACT EXTENSION!!!!!" A second added: "Would be somewhat poetic if he scores and assists tonight for a 2-0 win, and then LFC officially announces the details of the contract that has been signed and sealed."

A third said on social media platform Reddit, where the image was posted: "If you think I'm going to be so stupid as to believe this single photo means he's signed a new contract then you'd be correct."
Another even referenced Salah's last contract announcement which was made in 2022 amid links of a big-money move to Paris Saint-Germain. "If I remember correctly his previous contract renewal is when he was at holiday by the sea, here's hoping that he's following a similar theme," they noted.
The photo being shared online coincides with reports from France that Salah is close to agreeing a new two-year deal with the Reds. Some fans were more pessimistic, though, with one saying: "Filming a farewell..."
Other supporters theorised that Salah could've been filming an advert for one of Liverpool's many sponsors. If so, it's unlikely to be Nike, who are being replaced by Adidas as the Reds' kit manufacturer from the 2025-26 season onwards.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot has been coy on Salah's future all season as well as that of stars Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, whose contracts with Liverpool are also set to expire on June 30. Speaking in January, Slot affirmed: "Everybody wants him, including us.
"We want him to extend of course as well - that is clear. I'm not surprised that Saudi want him but I wouldn't be surprised if other countries want him as well. He's old enough and wise enough, and has done so many smart things in his career, that he will make the right decision for himself and, hopefully, for us as well."
