As the NFL draft fast approaches, NFL draft experts continue to release updated mock drafts. Everyone has their own perspective on where players should go, but when predicting what NFL teams will do, things can get a bit more difficult.
That especially applies to the quarterback position, the most volatile position both in the draft and on the field in the NFL.

In this year's draft, the only sure thing seems to be Cam Ward with the first overall pick, but beyond that, anything can happen.
In the latest mock draft from NFL.com's Chris Trapasso, he has the Cleveland Browns selecting Travis Hunter second overall, despite recent reports suggesting Abdul Carter or Shedeur Sanders are more likely.
While they skip out on the quarterback position with their top pick, they trade up to pick 22 with the Los Angeles Chargers to select Jaxon Dart out of Ole Miss.
Dart may not be worth a first-round pick, but given he is a quarterback with a baseline talent level and some intriguing potential, that makes a trade up late in the first an interesting idea for any team who needs a quarterback.
Dart has become a common landing spot for the Pittsburgh Steelers, so it is interesting to see him go one pick after instead in this mock.
The most interesting part of this draft is the Browns pairing a quarterback in Dart with a potential elite wide receiver in Hunter. While Hunter is just as much a cornerback, even having him catch passes as a part-time receiver should benefit any young quarterback.

While pairing Hunter with his college quarterback in Sanders would be a dream scenario for the Browns in this mock, Sanders goes off the board at pick nine to the New Orleans Saints, making that scenario nearly impossible.
Given the state of the quarterback position in this draft class after Cam Ward, it seems most likely that if a trade up were to happen for a quarterback, it would more likely happen for Shedeur Sanders. It is doubtful Sanders would fall further than 21 to the Steelers, so trading up just before that seems like a logical strategy.
While pairing Travis Hunter with a young quarterback seems like an ideal draft strategy for the teams at the top of the draft, it is unclear if a team will be aggressive to do it with Jaxon Dart. It will be interesting to see how things change in terms of Dart's value as the draft draws closer.
