Kevin Durant Had ‘Mutual Interest’ in 5 Teams at NBA Trade Deadline

Kevin Durant wasn't traded at this year's NBA trade deadline, but the Phoenix Suns superstar reportedly had "mutual interest" in getting sent to five teams.

According to Shams Charania of ESPN, Durant would have been open to getting traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks, Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat.

The Timberwolves, Knicks, Rockets, Spurs and Heat are expected to pursue a Durant trade this offseason.

Durant will make $54.7 million next season in the final year of his contract. He doesn't have a no-trade clause in his contract, so he can't control his future.

However, the Suns are expected to consult Durant on any trade discussions involving him this offseason, per Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

Durant has played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, Brooklyn Nets and Suns. He's a two-time champion, a two-time Finals MVP, a one-time MVP and a four-time scoring champion.

A future Hall of Famer, Durant turns 37 in September. He's averaging 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists for the Suns this season while shooting 52.7% from the field, 43.0% from beyond the arc and 83.9% from the free-throw line.

Durant is currently out with an ankle injury.

A 15-time All-Star, Durant has career averages of 27.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists.

It will be fascinating to see where the Texas product is playing next season.
