Warriors Make Announcement on Stephen Curry’s Historic Achievement

It was, obviously, a big night for Stephen Curry. Not only was he back on the floor after dealing with a hip injury on Tuesday night against the Grizzlies, but he had his shooting stroke working as well as at any time in his history.

Curry sank an astounding 12 3-pointers on 20 attempts as he scored 52 points to lead a 134-125 win as Golden State moved to 19-5 since the acquisition of Jimmy Butler in a blockbuster trade in February. He had 10 rebounds, eight assists and five steals on the night, too.

ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania spoke on "The Pat McAfee Show" about just how good the 37-year-old Curry has been.

"What Steph Curry is doing right now, to me, of course, the athleticism, the speed, that all fades with age, with time ... (but) I think he is just as good of a shooter right now as he has ever been," Charania said.

"The Golden State Warriors are 18-2 with Jimmy Butler in the lineup..

He has had an incredible impact and he takes his game to another level in the playoffs..

Indeed, the Warriors took a moment on Wednesday to celebrate exactly what Curry did the previous night by pointing out that he is only the second player in league histroy to post 50 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and five steals in a game.

"Just another night at work for Steph," the team wrote on its Twitter/X feed.

"Fifty-two points with people draped all over him, all game long," coach Steve Kerr said, adding: "I've been watching this for 11 years, and actually longer before I became his coach. … You get a real sense of just the magnitude of his talent."

Curry will next take on the Lakers on Thursday night, in Los Angeles.
