Arsenal's Premier League title rivals Liverpool are without one of their key players for tonight's Merseyside derby against Everton with Alisson missing from the matchday squad.
Back-up goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher deputises for the Brazilian, making his eighth appearance for the Reds in the Premier League. There had been doubts over Alisson's inclusion ahead of the game, after suffering a problem during March's international break.
The goalkeeper suffered a concussion while on Brazil duty against Colombia on March 21 and was forced to sit out of the 4-1 defeat to Argentina. He did return to training this week, but is nowhere to be seen at Anfield.
Arne Slot's squad are now nine points ahead of Arsenal after the Gunners beat Fulham 2-1 on Tuesday night. Mikel Merino opened the scoring in the first half before Bukayo Saka marked his return to action after three months with a goal to rubber-stamp all three points.
Mikel Arteta's men could do with Everton coming away from Anfield with something - as the title race enters its final stretch. The north Londoners have eight games left of the season, and they still have to face Liverpool in the final three games.
Liverpool's injury concerns were obvious ahead of the goalkeeper with Curtis Jones starting at right-back. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez are all currently side-lined - with Slot also opting to drop Jarell Quansah to the subs bench.
The Reds are next in action on Sunday afternoon after this match when they take on Fulham at Craven Cottage. Alisson's exclusion from Wednesday night could mean Slot might be without his goalkeeper for their next game.
An update on Alisson's fitness and availability for the coming weeks is expected to come after the Everton derby.
