Mohamed Salah's future at Liverpool continues to be a talking point as the season nears its conclusion. Salah's contract is currently set to expire at the end of the current season and rumours have been swirling as to whether or not he will put pen to paper on an extension.
Liverpool and Salah's representatives have been locked in talks over a new deal throughout the season. No breakthrough has been made on an extension, with just over two months to go until Salah's current deal runs out at the end of June.

Salah has scored 32 goals in all competitions for Liverpool this season and is leading the race for the Premier League's Golden Boot award with 27 goals. It remains to be seen what will happen with Salah's future over the next few months, and plenty has already been written and said about the Egyptian in recent days and weeks.

New contract claim
A report in Foot Mercato has claimed that Salah is on the verge of signing a new contract with Liverpool.
The report has also claimed that a two-year extension is 'close' to being agreed for Salah to extend his stay at Anfield.
Should that happen, Salah's new deal would run until the summer of 2027, which would be 10 years after his arrival from Roma.
Arne Slot verdict
Arne Slot has also been asked about Salah's future when speaking to reporters, either in press conferences or media interviews. Ahead of Liverpool's clash against Newcastle United in February, Slot explained how he hopes to have Salah continue his form in a Reds shirt for the foreseeable future.
“Mo has had some outstanding seasons here at Liverpool and we hope he can continue that for a long period of time,” Slot told reporters back in February. “But to do that, first he has to extend his contract, of course.
“You can look at it in both ways. You can say the better he does, the more expensive he might become. And if he did really worse, we would have second thoughts if we want to extend his contract.
“For everyone it is the best that he brings in the performances he does now. Maybe only for the one who has to pay him it is not the best!
“For everyone else it is the best because if you want to play at this club, you need to be at his level otherwise you are probably almost useless to play at this club because we only need players that are at the top of their game.
“Because this is one of the best, or the best, club in the world to play for. He needs to have these performances for him to play here and hopefully to extend here.”
Mohamed Salah admission
When Salah has given interviews with various media outlets, he has often been asked about his future at Liverpool. Back in January, the Egyptian indicated that his representatives and the Reds were not close to reaching an agreement.
“It’s my last year in the club, so you want to do something special for the city, that is the thing in my head," Salah told Sky Sports in January.
“So far, yeah. It is the last six months," he added. "There is nothing, no progress there. We are far away from any progress, so we just need to wait and see.”
