2025 NFL Draft Scouting Report and Film Analysis of West Virginia Offensive Lineman Wyatt Milum
Measurables:
Height- 6’6″
Weight- 313 lbs
Player Background:
Milum attended Spring Valley High School in Huntington, W. Va., where he was a four-star offensive line recruit and a standout baseball pitcher who at one point verbally committed to play college baseball at Marshall. On the football field, he did not allow a single sack on 1,480 plays during his high school career and was the No. 1-rated prospect in the state of West Virginia in the 2021 recruiting class. Milum opted to stay in-state and committed to West Virginia, where he played all 12 games and started eight at right tackle as a freshman. As a sophomore, he moved to left tackle and started all 12 games at the position. In 2023, Milum allowed zero sacks and helped the Mountaineers have a top-five rushing attack in the nation. As a senior, he earned Consensus All-American honors and won Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year.
Strengths:
Milum is an experienced and consistently reliable offensive lineman. He played in 47 games, starting in 43, during his college career. He has starting experience at both left tackle and right tackle, and in 1,155 pass block snaps at left tackle from 2022 to 2024, he never allowed a sack and allowed just one QB hit, according to PFF. With a ton of experience, Milum is also a highly intelligent player who does a great job handling stunts and blitzes. He brings positional versatility with experience at both tackle positions and is currently working to develop as an interior offensive lineman as well.
Milum is a strong run blocker. He has a powerful punch and heavy, active hands. He is extremely strong at the point of attack, moves defenders, and anchors well against bull rushes. Milum plays with a high motor and does a good job sustaining his blocks through the whistle.
Weaknesses:
Milum lacks an ideal arm length with just over 32-inch arm length. The ideal arm length for an NFL offensive tackle is around at least 33-34 inches, which puts Milum well under the typical minimum threshold. At his arm length, he will likely need to move inside at the next level, and while he is working to develop his skills as an interior lineman, he still lacks live in-game reps at the position.
Milum has some flexibility and foot quickness concerns. He doesn’t have great knee bend and plays with naturally high pad level. He has a bit of a slow first step and can struggle against super athletic speed rushers. While he is a solid athlete overall, he shows some stiffness and lacks great lateral quickness.
Potential Team Fits:
Baltimore Ravens
Green Bay Packers
Indianapolis Colts
NFL Projection:
Milum can play tackle in emergencies in the NFL, but his best fit at the next level is likely at guard. With his experience, strength, and IQ for the game, Milum can be an immediate impact starter if he becomes more comfortable playing guard. Milum could have some problems against super athletic pass rushers, but those problems will be mitigated at guard. He is a solid pass protector and mauler in the run game who can be a high-quality starter on the offensive line for an NFL team.
