NBA Facing Ja Morant Decision After ‘Gun’ Gesture in Warriors Game

The Memphis Grizzlies lost 134-125 to the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday despite Ja Morant's 36-point outburst. The Grizzlies (44-32) couldn't contain Steph Curry, who notched 52 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists.

Memphis is now 0-3 since firing head coach Taylor Jenkins on Friday and is dangerously close to Play-In territory, as it's tied with the Minnesota Timberwolves for the Western Conference's sixth seed. The 7-10 seeds must partake in the Play-In Tournament before the first round of the playoffs.

To make matters worse, Morant may be in hot water again after staying out of trouble since last season.

The NBA is looking into Morant's finger gun motions toward the Warriors' bench on Tuesday night, via ESPN's Shams Charania.

The former Rookie of the Year has been disciplined by the league several times for gun-related offenses.

Morant's first incident was when his associates were accused of pointing a red laser at the Indiana Pacers' team bus after "aggressively confronting" members of the team's party after a game on Jan. 29, 2023. The star denied the allegations but clarified that his friend, Davonte Pack, was banned from the Grizzlies' arena for a year.

In March of that season, the NBA then investigated Morant for flashing a gun on Instagram Live. The Murray State alum took a leave of absence before having a similar incident in May, which led to a 25-game suspension to open the 2023-24 campaign.

Morant is averaging 22.7 points on 45.4 percent shooting with 7.4 assists and 4.2 rebounds in 46 games this season.
