Watch the best of the action from City’s UEFA Youth League quarter-final away to AZ Alkmaar.
Ben Wilkinson’s Under-19s suffered European heartbreak in the Netherlands as an injury-time strike from Deacon van der Klaauw saw AZ snatch victory at the death.
For the most part, the City youngsters had produced a mature, composed and controlled display, dominating possession, territory and chances, especially in the second half.
City also saw a 59th minute Divine Mukasa penalty saved by AZ keeper Kiyani Zeggen.
But just when it appeared as though a tight, tense contest was heading for a penalty shoot-out, AZ claimed victory in the 94th minute through a stunning strike from van der Klaauw.
It was the hosts’ first shot on target and was enough to secure the spoils and with it a place in the semi-finals where they will face Barcelona.
