List of Potential Kevin Durant Trade Partners Revealed as Season Winds Down

As the Phoenix Suns eagerly approach a merciful end to their putrid 2025 season, it seems to be a matter of where, not if, Kevin Durant will be traded. After the team did not consult him before starting trade talks ahead of the 2025 NBA trade deadline, Durant is expected to seek a trade this summer, and the Suns are expected to give it to him.

Durant will be the hottest player on the market. With one season left on his contract, whoever adds him will likely sign him through the remainder of his career, although he can still play at an All-NBA level. Whoever adds him will be looking to win a title.

According to recent reports, there's a long list of teams he would be happy playing for.

The Suns will likely ask for three first-round picks and a young player to rebuild with or around in a possible trade, although most teams that can offer up that hefty package will. Durant makes any team, aside from the Suns, an immediate title threat.

He has listed the Miami Heat, New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves, San Antonio Spurs, and Houston Rockets as landing spots, per reports.

The Rockets either own or can swap draft picks with the Suns three times between now and 2031, making them an attractive trade partner for the Suns. However, the Spurs and Heat both have draft picks of their own, a solid cast of young players they could trade, and a desire to go all-in and win in the coming seasons.

Getting Durant on the Wolves or Knicks would be difficult, but it wouldn't prove to be impossible.

Interestingly, the Dallas Mavericks have been linked to KD in the past weeks but did not seem to make the cut.
