Man City player ratings vs Leicester with two 8/10s as Jack Grealish stars

Manchester City won their first Premier League game in over a month to move closer to qualifying for the Champions League. A 2-0 win over Leicester was enough to nudge the Blues up into fourth ahead of Chelsea's game with Tottenham in a game played out amid protests.

Erling Haaland was absent through injury, Pep Guardiola was banned from the touchline and thousands of City fans didn't take their seats until the 10th minute of the game but on the pitch it was a routine win. Jack Grealish scored inside the opening two minutes and Omar Marmoush added a second.

A tame second half was livened up by the introduction of Oscar Bobb in his first appearance since the Community Shield. Here are the player ratings.

**Ederson:** Didn't have anything to do. Literally anything. One Leicester touch in the opposition box tells you City didn't even need to pass it back to him. **6**

**Nunes:** He still had too many chaotic moments, charging forward and losing the ball or jumping over players, but he was untroubled. **6**

**Dias:** Getting into a groove at the back, and helped create the second goal as Leicester got deeper and deeper. **8**

**Gvardiol:** A rare outing in the middle and this looks like Gvardiol in his element, knowing where everything is and in complete control. **7**

**O'Reilly:** Progress to start the game and he had a decent game, getting forward with abandon again to contribute to the attack. **7**

**Gonzalez:** City look better when he is in the team ticking things along, and this was tidy without being that assertive. **7**

**Gundogan:** Another of his better performances, happier with the comfort of Gonzalez behind and linking well with Grealish. **7**

**Grealish:** Can City make a central player of Grealish yet? He showed good composure and understanding in the role after scoring early. **8**

**Savinho:** A typical Savinho performance, full of energy and brilliant at some times while being error-prone at others. **7**

**Doku:** Enjoyed taking on his man in the first half and enjoyed plenty of success. Faded in the second half. **7**

**Marmoush:** Shrugged off an early injury worry to score the second and is settling in nicely. **7**

### **Substitutes**

**McAtee (for Doku, 78)** Quickly picked up the tempo. **6**

**Bobb (for Savinho, 85)** The biggest cheer of the night was for him. **6**

**Lewis (for Gundogan, 91)** No time
