Wednesday was a very special day for former NBA star Carmelo Anthony because he was notified that he had been elected into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
That is obviously a massive honor for Anthony, and one he completely deserves.
As noted by Shams Charania, Anthony made 10 All-Star appearances and six All-NBA teams during his 19 seasons, along with three Olympic gold medals for Team USA.

Anthony had a career average of 22.5 points and 6.2 rebounds on 44.7 percent from the field and 35.5 percent from the three-point line.
He played for multiple teams during his 19 years and made an impact on all of them.
After being drafted as the third overall pick in 2003, Anthony got his start with the Denver Nuggets.
He was instantly a huge part of the team and came in second for Rookie of the Year.
He earned multiple All-Star spots in Denver before moving to the New York Knicks in the 2010-11 season.
That was when the second chapter of his career began, and Anthony did great things for the Knicks during his seven seasons with them.
He became a Knicks legend, and even though he wasn’t able to win them a title, he is still considered a hero by that fanbase.
He would later move to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers, and Los Angeles Lakers.
When he was with those teams, he took on more of a player-coach role, and retirement drew closer.
Since leaving the game after the 2021-22 season, Anthony has remained involved with the league and is often seen talking about the state of the game.
He clearly still loves basketball and is greatly valued by the basketball community.
