This is massive news for Anthony as he is now a first ballot Hall of Famer after having an incredible career in the NBA.
Anthony played 19 years in the NBA after he was selected third overall in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets.
Of course, Anthony played eight seasons in Denver before they traded him to New York in 2011 where he then spent seven seasons with the Knicks.
During his time in New York, Anthony averaged 24.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 44.3% from the field and 36.9% from three-point range.
He also made six All-Star appearances while in New York and finished third in MVP voting during the 2012-13 season.
Of course, Anthony was never able to bring a championship to New York during his time with the Knicks but he cemented himself as one of the best players in franchise history during his career there.
Anthony finished his career with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2021-22 and he finished as a 10-time All-Star, six-time All-NBA selection and was named to the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team.
Because of his accomplishment, there is no doubt that Anthony deserved to be a first ballot Hall of Famer as he was one of the best players of his generation.
