NBA Analyst Reveals Key Factor in Suns Potentially Trading Kevin Durant This Offseason

The Phoenix Suns are expected to trade Kevin Durant this season after their trio of him, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker failed to meet all expectations placed on them last season.

Durant was reportedly on the trade block this season without his approval, which has further ruined what relationship the team still has with their star. As the Suns and Durant prepare for what should be a clean breakup, all eyes will be on Phoenix.

Durant is seemingly content on being traded to either the Miami Heat, New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves, San Antonio Spurs, or Houston Rockets. That's quite a landing spot, and the postseason is expected to be a key factor in determining which team makes a move for the star.

"Matt Ishbia, the Suns' owner has already shown that he's aggressive, he's willing to make moves," pointed out ESPN insider Shams Charania. "He's going to make a million swings as owner, but this iteration of Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker just has not worked. And roster-wise, the changes that are likely coming to Phoenix start with Kevin Durant, and who else in the NBA believes they're a Kevin Durant away? I think the playoffs are going to play a big factor, which teams are going to be eliminated early?"

If a team like the Knicks or Rockets lose early, they might be inclined to bring in Durant. The Timberwolves are a lower seed and will have a tough first-round matchup, and the Spurs and Heat will likely miss the playoffs entirely.

Based on that report, it sounds like it could come down between the Rockets and the Knicks.
