Linda Pizzuti has issued a clear message after Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table with a victory over Everton. The Reds claimed a 1-0 win over the Blues in the Merseyside derby at Anfield on Wednesday night.

Diogo Jota scored the only goal of the game in the second half to send Liverpool back to 12 points clear of Arsenal at the Premier League summit. The Reds had gone into the game with a nine point lead after the Gunners beat Fulham 24 hours earlier and restored their previous advantage thanks to the victory over Everton.

The win means that Liverpool have 73 points to their name and need a maximum of 13 more to be guaranteed as Premier League champions with eight matches left to play. Next up for Arne Slot's side is an away trip to Fulham at the weekend, while Arsenal will go to Goodison Park to face Everton.

After the game, Pizzuti, wife of Liverpool principal owner and Fenway Sports Group chief John W. Henry, issued a message to celebrate Liverpool's victory over Everton.

"Three points and a clean sheet," wrote Pizzuti on her Instagram story shortly after the final whistle.

Liverpool have just eight Premier League matches left to play this season, starting with Fulham away on Sunday afternoon. Arsenal will take on Everton in the Saturday lunchtime kick-off, meaning the Reds could have more than 24 hours of their lead being reduced to nine points once again.

The Gunners will also have Champions League football to manage over the run-in, while Liverpool will have all of their focus on the Premier League. Arsenal will play the first leg of their quarter-final against Real Madrid on Wednesday night, just three days before going away to Everton in the top flight.
