Sandra Dee from Nevada asks:
"If Renfrow returns, do you think they could use him as a slot receiver?"
Looking at the Raiders' wide receiver room, "The Slot Machine" could provide some stability back to that position.
Jakobi Meyers has experience playing slot receiver, lining up there for nearly 300 snaps in 2024. However, he excelled more at wideout with 591 snaps at the spot and notched his first season over 1,000 receiving yards in his career. On the other side of the field, Tre Tucker lined up at wideout for nearly 75 percent of his total snap count. Brock Bowers demanded the most attention of any Raiders' pass catcher in the slot last season, however the versatile tight end is bound to be moved all over the field in Chip Kelly's offense.
General Manager John Spytek confirmed this week at Annual League Meetings that the Raiders met with Renfrow, but did not reveal anything further about the visit. In 2021, Renfrow was a Pro Bowler and regarded as one of the more masterful route runners in the NFL. As the Raiders went 10-7 and clinched a playoff berth that season, he was the leading receiver with 103 receptions, 1,038 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.
"We were just visiting and checking in on him," Spytek said. "I'll just say he's in a really good spot now where he wants to continue his career. We would be remiss if we didn't think about it."
