Former NFL player Kevin Lockett will speak at 100 Black Men of America gala Friday

Former NFL player and Booker T. Washington standout Kevin Lockett will be the keynote speaker at The 100 Black Men of America — Tulsa Chapter’s 31st annual gala at 7 p.m. Friday at the Osage Casino.

There will be a pre-gala mixer at 6 p.m. Tickets are $60 and can be purchased at the door.

This year’s Hall of Honor recipients will be Horace “Will” Williams, The Lockett Family Foundation, Albert “Buck” Buchanan, Oral Roberts University, retired Tulsa County district judge Jesse Harris, The Terrence Crutcher Foundation, Tulsa Community College provost Eunice Tarver, pastor Donald O’Neil Tyler, and Geoffrey Standing Bear, the Principal Chief of the Osage Nation.

The chapter said the honorees are receiving recognition for having “made remarkable contributions to mentorship, education, health, and economic empowerment in the community.”

Lockett’s son, Tyler, a 10-year NFL veteran free-agent receiver, also is expected to attend.

The 100 Black Men of America — Tulsa Chapter also will announce the establishment of the Lockett-Up Foundation Scholarship.
