Houston Rockets Fred Vanvleet Could Miss an Extended Amount of Time

Houston Rockets guard Fred VanVleet was ruled out for tonight game against the Utah Jazz with soreness in his knee and right ankle. VanVleet has been in and out of the lineup for the Rockets all season. He is a key veteran on a young Rockets team that needs veteran leadership.

"A little bit of knee soreness and some ankle as well in the ankle he injured," coach Ime Udoka said Wednesday. "He felt it a little bit after the back-to-back. He might not have been his best in the L.A. game, but he tried to play through it," said Houston head coach Ime Udoka

With the ongoing injuries to VanVleet it maybe wise to consider resting him for the remainder of the season. He will be counted on heavily for an inexperience team in the playoffs. The Rockets are one of the biggest surprises this season in the NBA as they have been able to win nearly 50 games in a competitive Western Conference.

VanVleet is averaging 14.3 points a game for the Rockets in 57 games. The Rockets are 49-27 on the season and are currently 2nd in the Western Conference. The Rockets replaced VanVleet in the starting lineup with Tari Eason.
