Steph Curry Joins Kobe Bryant, LeBron James With Old-Man History

Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry's impressive 52-point performance against the Memphis Grizzlies just became more notable.

According to ESPN, the Warriors guard's scoring performance only trails two other legends of the game in LeBron James and the late Kobe Bryant, that is for players aged 37 or older.

"Stephen Curry's 52 points against the Grizzlies were the third-most by a player age 37 or older in a game in NBA history, trailing only Kobe Bryant (in his final NBA game) and LeBron James," ESPN wrote in a post on Instagram.

At the top of the list of this exclusive club is Bryant and his 60-point outburst against the Utah Jazz on April 13, 2016. This outing also marked Bryant's final NBA game, leaving fans with a jaw-dropping memory of the Black Mamba after an illustrious career in the league.

In second place is James and his 56 point-performance against the Warriors on March 5, 2022. His effort led to a 124-116 win for the Lakers and snapped a four-game losing streak they were on at that time.

As for Steph Curry, he showcased his scoring prowess by hitting 12 3-pointers en route to his 50-point outburst in the Warriors' 135-124 win over the Grizzlies. It also marked the 15th time in the point guard's career that he recorded 50 or more points in a game.

Indeed, it's another reminder of the Warriors star's greatness, even as he approaches the twilight of his career.
