Deshaun Watson fires back after Browns owner embarrasses him

The Cleveland Browns are nothing short of a mess at the moment. Following the conclusion of the regular season, star pass rusher Myles Garrett requested a trade out of Cleveland, citing a disbelief that the team had what it takes to compete for a Super Bowl.

Myles ended up signing a massive extension that will keep him in Cleveland for the foreseeable future, but it appears there’s still some bad blood between the franchise and Garrett.

“Owner Jimmy Haslam tells a small group of us at the#NFL Annual Meeting that the#Browns have challenged Myles Garrett to ‘become a real leader of the team’ and ‘we’re hopeful he will be,'” Browns beat writer Mary Kay Cabot reported on Wednesday.

Garrett isn’t the only Browns player Haslam has had words for this offseason.

“Let’s address the elephant in the room,” Haslam told reporters. “We took a big swing and miss with Deshaun. We thought we had the quarterback, we didn’t and we gave up a lot of draft picks to get him. So we’ve got to dig ourselves out of that hole.”

Watson has since responded to Haslam’s comments, which are shocking considering Watson is still rostered by the Browns.

“maybe, if I weren’t built for this, I’d let it phase me,” Watsson captioned an Instagram post after Haslam’s comments.

It’ll be interesting to see if Watson ever takes another snap as a Cleveland Brown.
