Bruno Guimaraes sends three-word message to Sandro Tonali after Newcastle United beat Brentford

Bruno Guimaraes has captained Newcastle United to three wins in a row, with a little help from Sandro Tonali.

Newcastle United beat Brentford on Wednesday night, as they moved up to fifth in the Premier League.

It was not the most comfortable win for Newcastle United. Brentford made it difficult for them, but Eddie Howe’s side were able to dig deep and win 2-1.

Sandro Tonali scored the winner with a stunning strike, catching Mark Flekken out from a ridiculously tight angle. However, the goal was not fully intentional, with Tonali admitting it was a cross after the game.

But that will not bother the Toon Army, and it will not bother Bruno Guimaraes.

The Newcastle United skipper has taken to his official Instagram account after the game to comment on the Magpies’ latest victory, praising Tonali for his match-winning goal.

Bruno wrote on Instagram: “A very important win at home with the support of our fans! Happy to be back in the Premier League with 3 points. Howay the lads! What a goal @sandrotonali.”

It was an inconsistent 90 minutes from Newcastle, which was epitomised by Bruno Guimaraes’ performance.

The Brazilian blew hot and cold against Brentford. There were moments of brilliance from the skipper, while there were moments of sloppiness too.

He also survived a couple of second half penalty shouts, with Bruno taking some big chances inside his own box.

Both decisions went the 27-year-old’s way, as Newcastle United picked up a pivotal three points in the race for Champions League qualification.
