Man City looked much more like their usual selves against Leicester City on Wednesday night, cruising to a 2-0 win.
Goals came from Jack Grealish and Omar Marmoush as Manchester City beat Leicester City 2-0, marking back-to-back wins for Pep Guardiola’s side after their 2-0 win over Bournemouth in the FA Cup last time out.
Grealish scored his first league goal of the season against the Foxes now hat was a good night for him, and a good night for Marmoush who led the front-line effectively in the absence of Erling Haaland following his ankle injury sustained against Bournemouth.
Pep made six changes to the side that faced Leicester City with Nico O’Reilly starting after his impressive cameo at the weekend, along with Savinho and Nico among others, whilst Abdukodir Khusanov was given a timely rest ahead of the Manchester derby on Sunday.
Elsewhere, the game against Leicester City also saw Oscar Bobb make his long-awaited return to action. The 21-year-old played the final five minutes of the game and marking his first appearance since August.

Pep Guardiola drops worrying hint on Oscar Bobb’s Man City game time
Speaking to the press after the game, Pep was of course asked about Bobb, whom he spoke positively about before highlighting the difficulty that the Norwegian international will face in trying to get more game time between now and the end of the season, with only eight Premier League games and FA Cup fixtures left.

Pep said of Bobb’s game time chances: “It was long; he was injured and not recovered the way we expected. A long time. Before the first Premier League game, he was unfortunately injured. He cannot forget the warmth from our people, it was really nice. He is a top, talented player. His pressing and rhythm.
“Unfortunately now we’re in a period where minutes are difficult but we’re really pleased he’s back and played minutes. I’d like to bring him on earlier but at 2-0 the game is not over.”
Man City fans convinced Oscar Bobb will emulate one current star
Bobb has certainly shown in his brief appearances for an City that he’s a player with huge potential. This injury has certainly stunted his development but he’s back now, and Pep will be eager to get him fit and firing in time for pre-season, where he can really put a case forward to be in Pep’s plans next season.
And fans have high hopes for Bobb as well. Man City fans are convinced Bobb is the next Phil Foden and his return to action might now be very well-timed with Foden having had a lacklustre season with Man City and with England too.
Still, Foden is likely well above Bobb in the pecking order and likely to feature against Man United on Sunday, in what will be a real test of both side’s mettle, with both having endured rotten seasons so far.
