Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea have included Udinese star Oumar Solet in their target list, according to Sportitalia.
The defender was released by Red Bull Salzburg at the end of last season and was without a club until Udinese signed him in January.
Solet made 11 appearances, and his displays have caught the attention of other clubs. Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea are the latest clubs to be credited with an interest.
The report says several clubs, including the Premier League trio, have ‘tested the waters’ with Udinese for the 25-year-old.
He has a contract lasting until 2027 and the Italian club set a €30m asking price recently.
With Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea knocking on Udinese’s door for the centre-back, Sportitalia indicate Solet’s club seem to be aiming for a higher price.
The report states: ‘And now they [Udinese] are ready to enjoy the considerable fruits from both a sporting and economic point of view.’
His ‘price rises for everyone’, and there’s no mention of the fee Udinese hope to collect.
On February 23rd, Udinese chief scout Andrea Carnevale had backed Solet to join a club like Liverpool.
Manchester City signed Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis in January and may not look to strengthen the same position after this season. Chelsea have the centre-back position well covered now and could only consider Solet if one of them were to move elsewhere.
It’s possible the three English clubs are being used to drive up Solet’s price.
