Away from James Tarkowski’s ruthless tackle on Alexis Mac Allister, the main story of the night was Curtis Jones playing at right-back for Liverpool, with the midfielder putting in a solid shift in what was his first professional start in the position.
And Andy Robertson believes Jones proved a real point in Liverpool’s win against Everton last night at Anfield.

Curtis Jones showed his intelligence during Liverpool win vs Everton
Speaking to the press after full-time, the Scotland international lauded Jones’ performance against Everton with Robertson highlighting that the Liverpool midfielder really showed off his intelligence by adapting well to a new position so quickly.
With Trent Alexander-Arnold and Conor Bradley both out injured, there’s a real chance that Jones could keep the right-back position until Liverpool are confirmed as Premier League champions in the upcoming fixtures.
And Robertson believes Jones gave a great account of himself at Anfield last night, with the England international proving he can be a useful tool for Slot going forward if the Reds are again short in the right-back position.

Robertson said: “Curtis was excellent. He played a really good game, he is such an intelligent footballer. We were joking yesterday, he has played left wing, as a No 10, a striker, a No 6, a No 8 and a right back. It shows how intelligent he is, he took the game in his stride. So comfortable on the ball and defended well too.”

Liverpool need just 13 more points if they’re to crown themselves as Premier League champions, with confirmation likely to take place sometime this month if Arsenal once again slip up in any of their upcoming games.
And with Jones impressing so much at right-back, there’s a real chance that the Liverpool academy graduate could be used for the remainder of April to help the Reds see out the Premier League title.
Indeed, Jones gave an excellent account of himself against Everton and did not put a foot wrong in one of the most important games of the season for Liverpool fans, and the midfielder could be used as a right-back to help the Reds win the English championship.
