Exclusive: What Andrea Berta has privately said to Nico Williams to convince him to sign for Arsenal

Andrea Berta believes that Nico Williams is hugely attracted to Arsenal’s project ahead of a push to sign the winger this summer, TBR Football can exclusively reveal.

Since arriving at Arsenal, Berta is wasting no time in regards to preparing for the busy summer ahead.

The Italian has already spoken to Martin Zubimendi, who they are waiting to hear on amid Real Madrid’s interest, whilst Berta has stepped up Arenal’s striker search too.

But with the futures of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard in the balance, the decision over Arsenal wanting a new winger was made before Berta arrived – a call that the Italian did ultimately agree with.

In terms of the club’s targets, Mohamed Kudus, Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Leroy Sane, Jacob Ramsey, Alex Baena, Yeremy Pino and Arda Guler are on the club’s radar.

However, Williams is still at the front of the queue.

Williams’ reiterated that no decision had yet been made in regards to his future, but they insisted that a move to England is an option for him.

In the meeting it’s understood that Berta outlined the role that Arsenal see Williams playing, stating that he would be a key member of their side.

Arsenal and Berta believe that Williams would be very keen on Arsenal’s project, one they’ve been determined to sell to the Spaniard.

The Gunners want to make sure that they are at the front of the queue and TBR are told that Berta left the meeting with the belief that Arsenal are in pole position should Williams decide to leave La Liga.

Barcelona might veto a move for Nico Williams this summer

Despite Berta and Arsenal’s confidence, there remains strong interest from Premier League rivals Chelsea and Liverpool, both of whom are also in contact.

Chelsea began talks to sign Williams themselves recently, a club who are still building their front line under Enzo Maresca.

Barcelona also remain keen, but Williams’ people accept that the Catalan side might have other priorities this summer, which does open the door for a move to England.

Therefore Arsenal are still in a good position for both Williams and Zubimendi, two Spaniards who the likes of David Raya and Mikel Merino would surely love to see arrive at the Emirates.

Neither Williams or Zubimendi have made a decision on their respective futures just yet, but Berta is clearly not going to leave any stone unturned in pursuit of their signatures.
