Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a phone call Wednesday with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi, to discuss the latest developments concerning the Palestinian issue, as well as the situation in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem amid ongoing Israeli escalation and violations of international law.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated that the call included discussions on Egyptian-Qatari efforts to de-escalate and stabilize the ceasefire in Gaza, particularly in light of the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the region. The talks also addressed the increasingly negative developments in the West Bank, emphasizing the dangerous Israeli policy of repeated incursions into Palestinian cities, land confiscation, growing settlement activity, and ongoing provocations, including the recent storming of Al Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli Minister of National Security.
The two ministers also discussed the work of the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee and ways to activate its role in supporting the Palestinian people and implementing the outcomes of the emergency Arab summit held in Cairo on March 4.
