Former Rangers star Calvin Bassey tried to enjoy a bit of bater with Arsenal fans at the Emirates - but he got his timing horribly wrong.

And the Nigeria international had some fun with the Gunners legions who were giving him a bit of stick.

Bassey pulled down his shorts which got a reaction from the crowd but his prank backfired spectacularly as it came seconds before Arsenal scored.

Bukayo Sako netted the second goal for Mikel Arteta’s men after Mikel Merino had opened the scoring in North London.

Rodrigo Muniz pulled one back for the Cottagers in injury time but the points were safe at the Emirates.

And Arsenal fans were quick to comment on the clip that was shared on social media.

One said: “Calvin cursed them." Another said: “Came to see Calvin Bassey’s backside. Going home empty handed.”

It completed a miserable night for Bassey as he remained on the bench for the visitors who remain ninth in the English Premier League table.
