“He Could Be Out For The Season”–Ian Wright Makes Worrying Prediction About Arsenal Star

Arsenal legend Ian Wright fears that Gabriel could well be sidelined for the Gunners’ remaining games this campaign.

The Brazilian international sustained a hamstring injury early on during the matchagainst Fulham on Tuesday night and Wright believes he that the defender is unlikely to return to fitness in the short term:

“It is very concerning because, for me, the way he’s pulled up, that’s not two weeks. That’s like six weeks at least. He could be out for the season, depending on what happens with Arsenal.

Gabriel is expected to undergo some scans to ascertain the seriousness of the problem, but the early signs don’t look promising.

The Arsenal star’s wife has spoken out

Speaking at the screening of the ‘Married to the Game’ documentary, in which both her and her husband are featured, Gabrielle Figueiredo said:

“It’s difficult. I think the perfect example is now, because he got injured yesterday. So that is why he’s not here with me today. He would love to be here. I would love to be here with him.”

“Yesterday we got the news he got injured, and now he is with the doctor having scans. So this is the real life, and we never expected anything like this.”

Based on what his partner says, it does appear as if Gabriel has suffered a major injury, which tallies with Wright’s comments.

Gabriel’s absence is a big blow, especially with two huge games against Real Madrid coming up. Manager Mikel Arteta also has several other players on the sidelines.

Jurrien Timber had to be taken off against Fulham too with a suspected knee injury, while Riccardo Calafiori and Ben White also have similar issues, although the latter’s problem is said to be minor.

Kai Havertz (hamstring), Gabriel Jesus (ACL) and Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee) have already been ruled out for the rest of the season.
