Atletico Madrid wants Antony from Manchester United as he enjoys an incredible loan spell at Real Betis, rejuvenating his career. Antony joined Betis from United during the January transfer window and has played a key role in the La Liga.
United signed the 25-year-old from Ajax for £81.3m but Antony failed to justify that price tag under Erik ten Hag. After the departure of Ten Hag, Antony failed to impress the new boss, Ruben Amorim which led to his departure.
However, the flamboyant Brazil international has recaptured the form that he showed at Ajax, playing a key role for Betis. Antony’s rejuvenation is a good thing for the Red Devils even if he has no future at the Manchester club.

Manchester United outcast Antony has enjoyed a strong loan spell at Real Betis, helping improve his market valuation.
According to Fichajes, Atletico want Antony from United during the summer, with his valuation set at around £40 million. The 25-year-old has four goals and four assists from 12 games in all competitions at Betis this season.
While potentially getting half of the amount that United paid for Antony is a massive loss, it is still a good amount considering the struggles he faced at the club. United need a lot of funds by selling players due to the financial restrictions they face in the transfer market.
Furthermore, Amorim’s tactical style requires players of different profiles as the current squad has struggled to adjust under him. The Red Devils are currently 13th in the Premier League as Amorim has already lost several games since joining.
Meanwhile, Atletico taking Antony is a mutually beneficial deal for all parties involved as they hope to restructure their attack. Like many South Americans, the Brazil international has enjoyed the Spanish league more than the English environment.

Antony could still fulfil his potential but he cannot do that at Man United and in the Premier League. The Red Devils need several recruitments in their attack and the potential funds would help them achieve that.
