Wrexham AFC have become somewhat of a global phenomenon since Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought the North Wales club in 2020.
At the time Wrexham were on track to end the season in 20th place in the National League, increasing their final position to eight and second in the following seasons 2020/21 and 2021/22.
Then 2022/23 brought their first League title, earning promotion to League Two, gaining back-to-back promotions earning them a place in League One this season.
The club are currently in second place and eleven points behind league leaders Birmingham as they fight for automatic promotion to the Championship.
As such, The Dragons are now looking for further reinforcements in the summer to brace them for the highest level of football they’ve ever faced.
In their search to strengthen the squad, The Daily Mail has revealed that Wrexham are one of nine clubs looking to former Manchester United academy star Tom Lawrence.

The North Wales club are now looking at Rangers star Tom Lawrence to bring some more strength in the club’s attack.
The 31-year-old is a product of the Manchester United academy, having been with the youth side since the age of eight.
However at the age of 20 in 2014, United sold the midfielder to Leicester for £1 million, with the Wales international spending most of his time under The Foxes out on loan.
Loan spells with Rotherham, Blackburn Rovers, Cardiff and Ipswich led to Derby County signing Lawrence in 2017 for £4.5 million where he spent five years.
In this time Lawrence made 185 appearances with the club playing across both wings, as a striker and in central midfield, showing off his versatility, grabbing 37 goals and 25 assists.
When his contract ended in 2022 Rangers managed to sign the then 28-year-old on a free transfer, scoring 12 goals and grabbing seven assists in 66 games.
With Lawrence’s new run of form, earning his spot in Craig Bellamy’s Wales squad once again, it’s no surprise that several clubs are looking to sign the versatile attacker.
As Lawrence is once more coming to the end of his contract, Wrexham are joined by former club Blackburn, as well as Burnley, Coventry, West Brom and Middlesbrough in trying to grab the Welshman on a free transfer.
Interestingly though Lawrence has interested parties abroad as well, with Greek sides Olympiacos and PAOK also interested, as well as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hoping for a reunion at Besiktas after their time together when Solskjaer managed United’s Under-21s.
However, the draw of a homecoming might be too great, with Lawrence born and raised in Wrexham before joining Manchester United, meaning that Wrexham could have the edge over his other suitors.
