2025 has so far been an eventful year for Samsung and its fans, but this chapter is far from closed. Samsung is planning big things for the remainder of the year. And if you are a Galaxy phone fan hoping for the company to break from the ordinary, you should be excited for at least two new upcoming devices.
Those two are the Galaxy S25 Edge and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE (tentative name). The former has been officially teased by Samsung, whereas the latter is still driven solely by rumors. But for those who may be feeling like Samsung's Galaxy smartphones have become a little stale, these two devices should prove that the Korean tech giant hasn't given up on innovating — or at least diversifying — its device portfolio.
Despite their differences, the Galaxy S25 Edge and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE will have at least one thing in common: they'll keep everyone's attention fixed on Samsung. They'll just go about it in different ways. And here's how and the reasons why you should be excited for their eventual arrival.
Galaxy S25 Edge: Breaking from the norm through design
Let's state the obvious for a start: The Galaxy S25 Edge is a slab-type phone, whereas the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is a foldable phone. They couldn't be any different, but most Samsung fans (and even haters) will still want to check out both, regardless of their design preferences.
What sets the Galaxy S25 Edge apart from the norm? Samsung is trying to prove that it can pack flagship-grade technologies into a thinner, stylish package that could measure as little as 5.8mm.
The company hasn't focused on thinness in many years, so the Galaxy S25 Edge will be like a breath of fresh air for smartphone fans who value a thin profile.
At the very least, even if you count among those who dislike Samsung, you will probably want to look forward to the Galaxy S25 Edge just to see whether or not it can bend easily.
The phone won't be cheap, though. That's not its main goal. That's where the Fan Edition series comes into play. The Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to be priced between the S25+ and the S25 Ultra.

The Galaxy S25 Edge may go on sale this month, the next, or in June. Its launch is uncertain, and we recently explained why.
Galaxy Z Flip SE: Breaking the accessibility barrier
As for the second phone you should be excited about, i.e., the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, this rumored device has the potential to change the foldable phone market forever. How? Through accessibility.
Given its alleged Fan Edition moniker, everyone expects the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE to lower the price barrier to entry for foldable phones. Samsung fans who don't want to spend too much money on a foldable Galaxy smartphone have been begging for a cheaper solution for years, and it may finally materialize in 2025.

However, it should be noted that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE moniker is not official. The phone could be called Galaxy Z Flip FE or even Galaxy Z Flip SE (Special Edition) for all we know. And if it's going to be the latter, then there's no reason to believe it will be any cheaper than the regular Flip 7. Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold SE went on sale in select markets last year for a higher price than the regular Fold 6.
Still, there is hope, and that's why Samsung fans should be excited about this possibility. Foldable phones might finally become cheaper this year, and once that happens, the whole segment will likely change forever.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is rumored to make an appearance in Q4 2025, a few months after the standard Z Flip 7.
