The Washington Commanders knew they had a receiver deficit last season with Terry McLaurin needing help in the passing game.
Tight end Zach Ertz was a solid complementary piece for Kliff Kingsbury, but as far as genuine receiver power, that was lacking.
So general manager Adam Peters went to work and pulled off a trade for Deebo Samuel, a player with whom he spent years in San Francisco.
It is a fair assumption that Peters knows a lot about Deebo, and he can't wait to see what Samuel brings to the offense under Kingsbury.
"I've seen [Samuel] take over games, and it's really infectious throughout the team," Peters said via ESPN.
With Samuel's ability as a dual-threat weapon, exactly how Kingsbury deploys his latest star will make for interesting viewing.
Given that the Commanders last season were a run-heavy team with Jayden Daniels, Brian Robinson Jr., and Austin Ekeler all getting their lick of the ice cream, if we now add in Samuel to that rotation, defenses will have nightmares trying to stop it.

Washington is once again expected to be one of the top teams in the NFC, and Samuel will have a big role to play in how far the franchise goes in 2025. Yes, a lot of that falls on Daniels' shoulders, but he now has weapons that can help move the chains.
McLaurin, Ertz,and Samuel to begin with, and then we add in Jayden's rushing ability and the offense has the potential to once again be a top unit in 2025, with Deebo's "infectious" play-style being key to what Washington hopes is a great second season under Dan Quinn.
