James Harden Rewrites NBA History on Wednesday

The Los Angeles Clippers pulled off a big win on Wednesday night as they took down the New Orleans Pelicans at Intuit Dome, 114-98.

This was a crucial victory for L.A. as they are now tied with the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Memphis Grizzlies with identical 44-32 records. As of the moment, these three teams occupy the sixth to eighth seeds in the Western Conference with just six games remaining in the regular season.

Clippers veteran James Harden stepped up on Wednesday as the former MVP produced another strong performance for the Clippers. This came in the form of a 21-point, 10-assist double-double, to go along with a steal, three blocks and one triple in 34 minutes of action.

Harden was able to rewrite NBA history with his strong outing against a shorthanded Pelicans side. According to StatMamba, the 11-time All-Star now holds the record for the most 20-point, 10-assist games for a player in his 16th season.

This speaks volumes of Harden's consistency and longevity as the 35-year-old continues to be a dominant force at this point in his career.

In 72 games played this season, Harden has averaged 22.5 points on 40.0% shooting, 5.8 rebounds, 8.6 assists and 1.5 steals, while also knocking down 3.0 triples per game on a 34.8% clip.

Harden has been so good this season that he was named an All-Star again for the first time since 2022.

More importantly, Harden has helped lead the Clippers, who have gone 8-2 in their last 10 games, to where they are right now. L.A. is currently looking like a real threat out West, and there's no denying that Harden has played a crucial role in the same.

Harden and Co. are back in action on Friday and Saturday with back-to-back games against Anthony Davis and the Dallas Mavericks at home.
