The Philadelphia 76ers had very high hopes entering this season. This is after they formed a new Big 3 by bringing in Paul George to play alongside Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.
The trio's first season together has been nothing short of catastrophic, though, after they were eliminated from playoff contention even before the calendar turned to April. This was also the first time the Sixers had missed the postseason in eight years.
George's debut campaign with the Sixers has been characterized by injuries as the nine-time All-Star was able to play just 41 games in 2024-25. He averaged 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.8 steals in 32.5 minutes per game.
At the same time, George also runs a successful podcast entitled "Podcast P." In February, the former Most Improved Player of the Year declared that he was going on a podcast hiatus to focus on the Sixers. According to George, the goal was to do what he could to help give his team "a chance to be in contention to compete for a championship."
That, unfortunately, did not pan out as planned for George and the Sixers.
Now that it's over for Philly, it appears that the 34-year-old veteran is happy to return to his love for podcasting. In a recent statement, George revealed how the show has become an outlet for him. "It's therapeutic," he said.

While some folks were happy for George and his freedom to be vocal on his podcast, the majority of social media did not exactly like the context of his statement. So much so, that the six-time All-NBA forward is now under fire for what he said about his show.
"Then stop stealing money from these teams. Just retire and be a podcaster," a comment on X read.
"Save that (expletive) for when you're retired bro respectfully lol," said another.
"Oh God… Can this guy just not talk for once…" requested a user.
"Only thing therapeutic is your knees every March when the team starts playing like (expletive) and you need an excuse," reacted an NBA fan.
"Bro scammed Philly " accused another.
"Sixers didn't pay you a max contract to be making more podcast episodes than be available to play games," a post read.
As of writing, the Sixers have a 23-52 record and are 13th in the Eastern Conference.
George signed a four-year contract with Philly in free agency last year. He is locked up through 2028 for the sum of $212 million.
