Roma are actively seeking a new head coach before the start of the 2025-26 campaign. Ranieri came out of retirement earlier in the season to take over on an interim basis until the end of the current campaign, at which point he will transition into a directorship role.

There have already been a series of names linked with a move to the Stadio Olimpico, but one coach who will not be taking over is Atalanta’s Gian Piero Gasperini. Gasp said himself thathe could leave Bergamo at the end of the season, butRanieri has outright denied that he will be the next Giallorossi head coach.

The former Juventus head coach has been described as Roma’s ‘dream’ candidate to take over, but the club are aware thatthere is also interest from Milan andsoon-to-be sporting director Fabio Paratici.
Former Rossoneri coach Stefano Pioli is another option for Roma ahead of the 2025-26 season. He is currently in the Saudi Pro League with Al-Nassr, but reportedlyhas a break clause in his contract that means he could theoretically leave at the end of the current campaign.
