Liverpool has been handed a new date for its Premier League game against Arsenal next month, which could see the Gunners’ humiliation complete in the title race.
The Reds had originally been scheduled to host Mikel Arteta’s side at Anfield on Saturday, May 10 in their penultimate home game of the season. Now, Arne Slot’s men will take on their nearest challengers for the title on May 11, with a 4:30 pm kick-off in the UK (11:30 am ET, 8:30 am PT in the US).
Liverpool may well already have the title wrapped up by that point. The Reds restored their 12-point lead over Arsenal by beating Everton 1-0 on Wednesday, leaving them a maximum of 13 points away from securing the Premier League crown.
With five games to come before the Gunners visit Anfield, Liverpool has the chance to end its rival’s hopes before they visit Merseyside. What’s more, if the Reds do have the title wrapped up by then, Arteta’s side will have to give Liverpool a guard of honor.
The latest change means all but one of Liverpool’s remaining eight games have now had their dates confirmed.
Next up is a tricky trip to Fulham on April 6, before West Ham visits Anfield on April 13. Liverpool then travels to relegation-threatened Leicester City on April 20, before closing out April at home against Tottenham on April 27.

There’s another trip to London on May 4 as the Reds head to Chelsea, before Arsenal’s visit the following week. The only game yet to have a date confirmed is the penultimate game of the season at Brighton, which is currently scheduled for May 18.
The final game of the season, at home to Crystal Palace on May 25, is locked in though, with all teams set to play at the same time on the final day of the campaign.
With no Champions League commitments now, Liverpool’s sole focus is on the league, although Slot is not allowing himself to think too far ahead.

“In theory so many things can happen,” he said in his pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s trip to Fulham. “We felt yesterday how hard it is to win a Premier League game. Yes we won it and yes we are very happy with it but David Moyes deserves a lot of credit for how his team was lined up and how difficult he has made it for every single team they have played since he arrived there. It is nice for us that we beat them because we know how hard it is.
“It tells you that with eight games to go, every game is a challenge – starting with Fulham, who are having a very good season as well.
“We are not working on theories about how many points, we are taking the challenge of Fulham where we will need to be at our best again to get a result.”
