'I can see': Matt Law predicts Chelsea could make a move this summer which would seriously annoy Blues fans

Plenty of attention is already on what is set to be another summer transfer window already at Chelsea.

With Enzo Maresca expected to still be the manager after his first campaign at the club comes to an end, there will be plenty of eyes on the signing the Blues make and how well they are suited to the playing style of the boss.

One position which is strongly rumoured to be strengthened is the striker role, where the Blues have not had a recognised option since the start of February.

Maresca is a big fan of Liam Delap, and he is leaving a good impression on many following his excellent first season as a Premier League striker.

There are plenty of other options too on the list. Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko are being considered by the Blues as well as a number of other top sides in Europe.

Matt Law predicts Chelsea could sell Nicolas Jackson this summer

The news leaves many wondering what this would mean for Nicolas Jackson, who has been the starting centre forward since he made the switch to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2023.

While not reaching elite goalscoring numbers, Jackson has proven to be a crucial member of the attack in West London, something some hadn’t realised until his recent injrury.

Journalist Matt Law has guessed that there could be a world where Chelsea actually sell Jackson this summer, with him unlikely to be keen to move to the left of attack.

He speculated to ‘London is Blue’: “I’m guessing here. I can see a scenario where they sell Nico this summer. It’s a guess, but depending on what they do with a striker coming in, I don’t see a scenario where Nico moves to the left, and that becomes his position.

“I don’t think Nico would particularly accept that. I can see a scenario where if someone came in with a good bid for Nico, they would consider selling him. That is a guess, that is my opinion.”

Nicolas Jackson stats for Chelsea

Jackson was a favourite of both Mauricio Pochettino as well as Maresca, and his numbers have backed up the regular minutes he has been given.

However, it is notable that he hasn’t hit 20 goals in a season yet, a typical benchmark for top sides when it comes to their number nine.

With a number of routes being discussed as to what they will do with the striker position, one possible signing could see Jackson remain the starting option for the time being.

The Blues are linked with Emanuel Emegha, currently starring for Strasbourg, however he is an option who would not be ready for regular minutes at Stamford Bridge yet.
