Former NBA Champion Reveals Head-Turning Zion Williamson Update

Zion Williams was expected to be an elite superstar when he was drafted by the New Orleans Pelicans with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft.

His athleticism was off the charts and he had dominated the high school and college levels. Sadly, his NBA career has been full of injuries and poor decisions.

Throughout his first five years in the league, Williamson has dealt with injury after injury and his weight got a bit out of control. However, that seems to be changing.

During the 2024-25 NBA season, Williamson has looked to be in great shape and appears to have made some changes.

One former NBA champion has revealed a major update about Williamson and some of the changes he has made as he attempts to live up to the hype that surrounded him when he entered the league.

In an appearance on ESPN, Kendrick Perkins spoke out about Williamson. He detailed some of the changes that he has heard the Pelicans star has made.

"I'm feeling great about Zion [Williamson]." he said. "From what I'm hearing from my sources, he has a reset in his camp. He hired a nutritionist, he got some new people in his corner."

Becoming healthier could change everything for Williamson. Getting into better shape could help him avoid the injuries that have plagued his career to this point.

Williamson has played in 214 career games in New Orleans. He has averaged 24.7 points per game to go along with 6.6 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.0 steals. In addition, he has shot 58.9% from the floor.

At 24 years old, Williamson has plenty of time to turn things around. If Perkins is correct, he's well on his way to figuring things out.
